This Year's Model Updates:

The power rear hatch is now standard on all models, as is wood and leather trim for the shift knob and steering wheel. The power passenger seat is upgraded from four-way to eight-way while the optional navigation system gets Bluetooth capability and voice actuated control. Last year's standard six-disc CD changer moves to the options list, making way for a standard single-CD setup.

Pros:
  • Well-appointed interior, rides more like a sedan than an SUV, loaded with high-tech features, solid reputation for reliability, excellent dealer service.
Cons:
  • Less powerful than some of its competitors, soft ride makes for merely adequate handling in corners, no third-row seat option.

  • Second Lexus... more to come - 2005 Lexus RX 330

This is our 2nd RX, 1st was 2000 also bought used, now with 120,000 miles passed down to son. These are great cars, great company to work with even if there are issues; the perfect car. Crossover sits higher, easier to enter/exit, safer on road. Great in winter, fun to drive. Two recommendations: buy Certified Preowned from a dealership you trust. 2nd recommendation: do not scrimp on tires as they make a huge difference in road noise and handling. Recommended: Michelin Energy LX4. We compared the RX with a 2005 Acura MDX, which felt cumbersome with a boring exterior.

Fun to drive. Placement of some dashboard button Needs Improvement. Transmission shifting is hesitant sometimes but overall, its best vehicle Ive ever owned.

  • Getting Spoiled by Lexus - 2005 Lexus RX 330

Have a dressed up RX330 with navigation. Have been very impressed with quality, comfort, quiet ride, performance, handling. Have talked with friends whove driven Lexus for 20 years and never needed a repair. Dealership was great, service is great, car is fun to drive. My wife is primary driver, and I thought I would never get her out of her Land Rover (she has a phobia about running into a deer). After one day in the Lexus, shes never gone back to the Land Rover, and will probably buy Lexus from now on. Only complaint: not enough storage bins in front (no place for parking/toll change). Could take a lesson from the Toyota Sienna XLE. Could use parking sonar, too.

  • Great SUV...Very Satisfied - 2005 Lexus RX 330

I bought my RX330 about 3 1/2 months ago. Pearl White with Beige leather. Overall I am very satisfied with the RX. I think the exterior is very attractive...clean and not over the top. The interior is also very nice. The leather has held up well. The seats are long haul comfortable. The power tilt steering wheel is a nice touch. The power rear door has also come in very handy. I get a respectable 23 mpg city/28 mpg highway. The transmission is very smooth, but I feel the engine is a little underpowered. Mine has the 18" chrome wheel pkg, which seems to ride well. The dual DVDs are nice, but not something I needed. No issues with anything, and the Lexus dealer has been top notch.

  • Goodbye Acura..hello Lexus - 2005 Lexus RX 330

My wife and I have driven Acuras for years. We had a TL and wanted an SUV. The MDX couldnt compare to the RX 330 when it came to luxury and ride comfort. This is a great vehicle that manages to provide a pure luxury sedan feel with the ruggedness of an SUV. It offers great handling and style. The Lexus cache cant be beat, and as good as Acura is, it doesnt make the "luxury" impression that Lexus does.

  • Not So Happy - 2005 Lexus RX 330

I have the car since August. I have taken it back 3 times for an alignment. It pulls to the left. They have tried to fix it and they now tell me that is how it is. Because of the new tires and new style when you take your hands off the wheel it pulls to the left. I would not buy this model again. Otherwise it has nice options and look great.

  • Save money buy a regular Toyota - 2005 Lexus RX 330
    By -

After driving this vehicle for over a year I can only say I should have bought a Toyota and saved some money. Numerous rattles, transmission that cant seem to find the right gear and now there is a rather unusual clunk each time the drive train engages. Couple that with a drive train howl at around 60 mph and we are less than satisfied with this vehicle.

  • Great SUV - 2005 Lexus RX 330

Just purchased this weekend. Great SUV! Very pleased with Honda Accords for the last 8 years but wanted to sit up higher but didnt want to bulk or fuel consumption of a full size SUV. Considered the Pilot but was too big for our needs. The RX 330 is has a very comfortable ride and Lexus dealership was excellent. Very happy with the performance so far and the Lexus reputation for excellent products and service. Lexus seems to have achieved a very balanced vehicle with safety features, fuel economy, and practicality

  • Delivers Best Performance & Value - 2005 Lexus RX 330
    By -

The RX 330 really delivers performance and value. This vehicle is packed with all the features one could look for in a sport utility: leather interior with wood accents, power seats with drivers side presets, navigation system, rear adjustable seats with beautiful center arm rest, one touch power windows and sunroof, powerful engine, turns on a dime and the best feature of all; the power rear liftgate for easy loading and unloading of all those items you will be able to afford with the money you save from purchasing this vehicle. I cannot stress enough how wonderful the RX 330 is. We love it.

  • Our first Japanese vehicle-ever - 2005 Lexus RX 330

Love it. Probably the best interior of any 40K vehicle. They set the standards on this one. Not good mileage as we expected. Terrible back up lighting at night. Cannot see a thing in the dark. They claim nothing can be done. Ride and handling-excellent. Definately a crossover. More car-like than truck like. HIDs a problem on dark roads. A defined line that is a short distance from the vehicle. At high speeds you can overrun the headlights. We use High beams alot.
